TOO MUCH DRINKING & TOO MUCH EATING & maybe TOO MUCH TOBACCO too, last night ?!

Let’s start the year right and DETOXIFY ! 12 ingredients (including the water) to cleanse your bodies … drink 2 cups each and take it easy today. The different spices will do your liver a lot of good, as well as your tired digestive system and perhaps throat and respiratory system too. The lemon juice and apple cider vinegar will cleanse you  (I think I’ve already mentioned in the past how drinking 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice in a hot cup of water every morning or before each meal, does the body an amazing amount of good).

Well,  that’s all for today,  January 1, 2016, so you can go back to bed now !

1 litre (4 cups)

ingredients

  • 1 litre boiling water
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2-4 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp fresh rosemary needles (or 1 tbsp dried)
  • 3 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (or 1 tbsp dried)
  • 4 slices or 1 cm ginger root  (or 1 tsp dried ginger powder)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 12 cloves
  • 12 cardamom pods
  • 12 pink peppercorns
  • 12 juniper berries

instructions

  • crush the cinnamon sticks and  spices, berries, pods and slightly bruise/crush the sliced ginger, rosemary needles and thyme leaves
  • place all the ingredients a litre heat-proof glass container and pour 1 litre of boiling water over it and let steep 12 minutes
  • using 2 large mugs (500 ml each), add 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp lemon juice and 1 thin slice of lemon (and/or orange) for each mug and add 2 cups filtered liquid to each mug
  • drink hot, detoxify your body (and go back to bed) !
